I am a passionate man.
I am passionate about my family, my friends, shamefully passionate about sport of pretty much any description, and I am super passionate about small business, especially family business.
I am passionate, and I am not afraid to offer an opinion. I know the highs and the lows that SME’s face, that they usually don’t make the time to look up and make some noise. That has been me for too long. Some time ago I decided that I was going to carve some time out of my schedule to offer my Two Cents to anyone willing to listen, and many government agencies and politicians who may or may not care to.
Small business must have a voice, and must be heard over the noise of big business and government.
Australia has been built on small business, and for Australia to thrive once again, small business must band together as an unofficial co-op with a united voice.
Sometimes, some people need to be told, and sometimes I am the man for the job.
So, when do I start??? RIGHT. FUCKING. NOW.
I’m TC, and this is my Two Cents.
Why the f * should you listen to me?
My dad started our family Accounting business in 1962, my mum worked in the buso for 40 years my favorite Aunty Helen was here for 30, I have been here for 20 + years. With the first generation no longer about, I took the decision to merge with a like-minded Accounting and Business Advisory firm. Our focus is working closely with our clients to provide sound business advice, top client service and use technology to make all our lives easier.
We deal mainly with SME’s, many of which are family businesses. We are onto our 3rd generation in some families, and have clients still with us from when Big Phil opened the doors on 1 March 1962.
We have seen businesses thrive, we have seen businesses fail, we have seen all the what-to-do’s and what-not-to-do’s when running multi-generational family businesses.
We have seen the demise of manufacturing in Australia, with the exception of those who invested heavily in technology, taking on significant risk to do so.
I see agriculture heading in much the same direction. Labour is just too expensive for Australia to compete.
I know how tough it is out there, because I am out there, just like you. Not sitting on the sidelines theorising about it.
Walk with me, let’s crank it up to 11 and make it happen.
